Should we expand to include classic Elans?

Postby philip_sloper » Wed 17.05.2006, 14:46

An open question.

Given the name of the site, should we consider including an area for classic Elans, i.e the original "baby" Elan and the Elan +2.

We do occassionally get postings about these models, presumably because of the site name, and I think some M100 owners also own classic Elans. So maybe we should welcome them on board.

phil
I have a 'selection' of 'original' elans as well as my m100.....
I see no reason to discriminate but there is a site dedecated to the chapman creation www.lotuselan.net
I am on there too and point questions relating to the m100 to this site and visa versa.....
I dont mind either way but I think the knowledge of each site is based on its members and I think 90% of the m100 people are on here and 90% of the chapman elan owners are on lotuselan.net
they have a great library and we have a great library....
I think point each other to each others site....what about the 2 sites putting links on the front pages to each other!!!!!
cheers

I didn't know about www.lotuselan.net

Now that I do, I too agree that a link would be a good idea.

Should we expand to include classic elans?

Postby algirdas » Fri 30.06.2006, 02:59

Dear All:

I too own one of each (type 45 and type 100). I vote "no" on expanding to include classic elans. The two cars are so fundamentally diiferent that combining the two on one website would not be desirable for either camp.

One of the greatest attributes of this website is its intense focus on just the M100. I suggest we keep it that way.

Those are my two cents.

Sincerely,

Algirdas

Given everything that's been said thus far. I think you can all rest assured - it ain't gonna happen.
