What's under you Hood (Lid)

Postby Gary » Mon 03.07.2006, 20:40

(I don't mean bonnet - for our couzins over the water).

Our SE has black material fitted to the underside of the hood lid, which stops the hood rubbing on it when down. However the S2 doesn't and hence the hood rubs on the bottom of the hood lid.

Just wondered why an old SE seems to have something which was then not fitted on S2s

I've noticed it recently, but keep forgetting to ask what to do about it. I was tempted to stick some felt or similar under the hood lid. Any chance of a photo of the SE underside anyone?

I've also found that the rubber cusion which pushes up against the front lip has been shortened (split perhaps) and hasn't always been in position so the paintwork has been rubbed by bare metal - ouch.

Sorted!

I was sceptical about these, but they've been on for about 2 years and have been dragged all around the kitchen tiles without coming off or loosing their effectiveness.

Tight fisted bar stewards! You can just see where mine has rubbed the plastic leaving a good polished finish.
