Loss of extra boost

Hi guys, need some help, after winter lay up only getting 0.5 on gauge(was on nearly 1 nothing changed since) and missing that extra kick, have Everest chip & big bore exhaust. Checked for loose/split hoses & sticking waste gate, everything else is normal, tickover, starting, revs to max cut out ect. Have not got Elanscan or laptop, can do nuts & bolts, not so good on computer ! Any ideas? Thanks Leighton.

Maybe its the BSV (or BCFV if you prefer), the clear topped solenoid valve on the side of the air cleaner. Check electrical connections, fuse and check it opens on 12V.

Thanks for that, was completely unconnected, had little run out yesterday as far as i can tell its back to what it was like at the end of last Summer, scary fast! Is it odd that i was getting any boost at all?

Even disconnected you'll get about 0.4bar, which is when the wastegate opens by default. The ECU use the BSV to achieve boosts higher than 0.4bar by limiting the pressure that the wastegate 'sees'.

Well now i see, usefull if i let someone else drive it whos not familiar with the turbo kick , i can disconnect to cut down power to safer limit.
