To embed them the pictures need to be no more than 640x480 pixels in dimensions. The attachement method is to stop the forum from stretching out of proportions when someone posts a huge photograph.

have you not been pulled with tha number plate yet!!!!!
theyre having a crack down round here at the moment....
the elise guys with the 3/4 size plates on the front seem to be taking the flack for the lotus community but the boy racer text fonts are just as tempting for the cops round here.....
black and silver were for cars registered before 1st Jan 1973...ie if its tax free you can have black/white or black/silver plates.....
apparently its all to do with these new front facing cameras.....
ha!! thats a laugh as my old elans have got the numbers/letters clipped on the radiator grill and unless you lying in the middle of the road you can hardly see them.......although I did get pulled for not having a plate on the front by a 'keen' cop but when I showed him where it was and explained that it was loctaed where it was supposed to be located and that I hadnt hidden it on purpose he let me off!!!!......think he just wanted a nosey at the car but there you go!!!!
anyway.....if your in derbyshire/cheshire/lancashire beware of non standard number plates....you could get pulled at any time.....
oh and its £60 and 3 points!!!!!....

No - not been pulled by the Police. I have previously ran with No plate, 3/4 plate and illegally spaced plates on the Elises. I got followed for a few miles with the illegal spaced plate but they never pulled me. I even got pulled in by the police once for a vehicle inspection check at Christmas and they went through the whole of the car to check for roadworthiness. When I asked them why they hadn't said anything about the plate he just replied that it was legible, was not in a silly font and I was doing no harm. Result ! I really only think they pull the chavs in the cossies with italic plates with 'Yo Mamma' written on the bottom. They seems less interested with 'Enthusiast cars'. My excuse anyway is 'I bought it off a guy in the Channel Islands where they are all black and silver - which they are'. That 'should' just get me a warning IF in the event they can catch me ;-)

You are allowed by Law to have a SHORTER PLATE IF THE VEHCILE IS AN H REG.

Would look nice on a Blue Car :-D

My front number plate is just a sticker these days - a proper number plate ruins the air flow. It might be a bit small, possibly illegal, but the rear ones are illegal anyway if you still have the perspex cover. Which I do.

Hi

The REAR COVER is STILL LEGAL providing it is the ORIGINAL fitting.

Only the S2 which may have HAD the SE cover fitted is NOT LEGAL the
SE with perspex cover is still Valid providing the PLATE CAN STILL BE READ THROUGH THE COVER.

My front plate will be staying off for a while after I get the car back from sinclaires... nice new bumper doesnt need a nasty numberplate stuck to it...

The illegal spacing on mine doesnt interest the police at all.. forward facing cameras can recognize it easily as its standard font and unadulterated letters... just a slight slip with the spacing.
