A Newbies White One

As with a lot of others here, I loved the Elan when it first arrived on the scene, but never took the plunge

That changed a couple of months ago when I celebrated my freedom (just got divorced ) and jumped right in there.

What did I get:

Now I knew that I would have to get a paint job and have the interior reupholstered, which is what I did.

The new interior is based on the seats:

This was based on the Lockwood dials (which in my mind have never had a suitable lighting solution) but I liked the look and decided the red (ok more maroon or burgandy) was a good basis.

The interior was finished today and I will get som completed pictures up here soon.

Paul, thanks for the compliment, and here she is with everything installled:

Personally I'm not sure about the wheel, but I'll wait for a while to make a final judgement.

I've already driven it the last couple of days, pretty much blown the exhaust (thanks to Dave at Peco I've already got a replacement on order and enjoying it just so much....at least when I spend money on her, I appreciate it (unlike being married...LOL!!)

A few more tinkering bits to do, like replace the exhaust, stop the brake squealing badly at mid braking pressure and think about some new shocks, hood, etc, etc......

I'm in the simulator tomorrow (hence the Virgin bit!) and I'm looking forward to the drive to Gatwick...country roads all the way.

I still have to find a date I can make time to go in the local Extra 300 for a joyride I have it set up but between to 100 degree weather lately and my schedule I have not beeen able to find a perfect day to plan ahead for.

Oh Oh Oh Oh ooooooohhhhhhhh I want it lol. Nice car, nicely done too . Well done, the burgundy goes very well with the cream, and the crome gear stick and hand brake breaks it up just nicely. Lovely
