central lock motors needed

Postby kmckmc » Tue 29.08.2006, 20:54

Hi,
It seems to me that my central locking's motors are not working. What should I do? Replacement?

REgards,

What do they do?

With both doors unlocked and closed, when you press down on one of the locks (by hand or key) do you hear anything like they want to work, does either lock try to move down but then pop back up? Do this experiment on both sides.

Or

With both doors locked pull up on one of the locks, does anything happen to the other lock, do you hear anything or does the other lock do nothing? Do this experiment on both sides.

Another test:
With one door open and the other closed and unlocked, press on the open doors lock and then what happens, does the lock pop back up or nothing at all? Also, with the both door open press down on one of the doors locks and what happens? Do this experiment on both sides.

Knowing what is actually happening when you do the above test will help you issolate the problem to the driver side, passenger side, or the mechanical locking control box.
