Lotus Elan Central

Hi All

My Elan came with no tools/spare wheel etc so I want to put together a small kit of tools and essentials.

Aside from some pliers, instant tyre repair, duct tape and full AA membership - what would you suggest!!!!

Readily accessible contact numbers/details for Paul Matty, SJS, SW Lotus, Horizon etc...... They're for spare parts as you will undoubtedly need their services at some time during the time you have your Elan

And a good local garage/mechanic if you can't do the work yourself

PS Dave Ed's suggestion of a paperclip is not only good for sorting out your engine diagnostics but will also be the cheapest suggestion for as tool

My advise would be to buy yourself a 1995 VW Polo Space-saver wheel (same as elan SE Space-saver wheel but easier to find) and a torque wrench with at least a few choice socket set bits to fit; one for taking wheels off and putting the space saver on, would be a good start.

Could save a world of pain, especially in remote areas.
