Outbox vs. Sent box

Maybe a dumb question, but what's the difference? I noticed recent PMs I've sent end up in the Outbox rather than Sent. Are people getting these?

Outbox = sent but not read.
Sent = sent and read by recipient.

If it's in the Outbox, the recipient hasn't read it via LEC. They may still have read it via the copy sent to their external email address. Once they have viewed the message in LEC, it moves from Outbox to Sentbox. I don't know what happens if your Sentbox is already full though.
