Hi,
I Was getting a sort of 'wheel bearing' noise for a few days, then fourth gear seemed to be tricky to locate - on parking the car, I just couldn't get reverse. What do you think it is? My excellent garage expects it to be a clip that has gone in the gearbox - which makes sense. All other gears seem fine and I can locate 4th without too much trouble - just reverse is totally unavailable.

have a look were the cables meet the bracket on the gearbox and see if one of the retaining clips is missing or the plastic part is broken.

yeah, take of the top pipe going to the throttle body and maybe undo the expansion tank and push it to one side. Then u should beable to see the bracket on the gearbox.
There are pic`s and topic on the forum somewhere.

Or just always park where you can drive out forwards.
