It looked like the bars at the rear were not locking in place correctly, so the rear could lift.

I tracked the fault down to a bent rod in part of the folding mechanism, unbolted it bent it back into shape, problem solved.

Is this the circular 'rod' which runs back from the centre split of the seals above the window to the back part of the frame?

Cheers,

Sounds like the right thing, I've attached a picture...

What I did was to unbolt the front fixing to see how far out the rod was when the back of the hood was located correctly and then bend it in a vice. A bit crude but it fixed the problem....

I'm now a little more careful when raising and lower the hood, no more trying to drop the top when stopped at traffic lights!!

That's exactly what I did and then thought "hmm probably shouldn't have pushed it in"

I'll try bending the bar back. Does the arm at the back of sit strait on your hood now? (Pictured on the previous page)

Thanks,

Phil

The arm at the back of the hood now locks in place, see picture.

Fantastic,

Thank you so much, I don't know why but the hood doesn't fit in the compartment, but I have a while to figure that one out.

Tested the hood after bending the rod and all is well, arm strait and no flappy hood.

Thanks again lotuska,

Phil :-D

They should 'pop' over-centre against that circular bush thingy in the picture. It make a kind of geometric lock and holds the back down.
