I've been using a new e-mail address to keep ElanScan interface comms seperate. Today I've received a couple of e-mails recommending I visit http : //krugosoft.com/?Evelyn. I know you are doing a great job in keeping these b***ards in check but is it likely my address has been farmed from LEC or (as I suspect) someone else's back passage has been entered without their knowledge?

Enter rant mode: Why can't these :censored: :censored: not leave decent people to get on with what they want to do? If I ever find out who did it, I'd :censored: well insert a :censored: large :censored: stick up their :censored: :censored: sideways until their :censored: :censored: turned black and :censored: blue.

Thank you very much and sorry if I've wasted any of your time.

Funnily enough  , today, for the first time, I received some spam with car-related words in the title. Coincidence, bearing in mind recent activity? Dunno.

As with anything, posting your main mail account on a website will attract spam, mines listed here but I've not had anything adverse.

One of the worst things is people who get spyware one their PC's and have your email address saved in their PC's address book. Or those wonderful people who send out bulk emails to all of their contacts with your address showing in the to line, so that any viruses and spyware on other recipients PC's also gets your email account.

I personally blame the yanks, sorry guys, as simply put 75% of the spam I receive is for goods being sold by American companies. The other 25% is phishing attempts to steal bank account details for banks I don't use.

I personally have a good spam filter setup on my email host, they filter the email before it gets sent to my client, once a day I get an email informing me which emails are being held in the spam box, and I can go on to web mail to retrieve anything I need, 99% is accurately picked up as spam, and only 1 email a day about spam is very handy considering I have a lot of accounts.

I have up-to-date malware and virus protection and email filtering. Just curious. Must be just coincidental.
Thanks for the info

I use http://www.dreamhost.com who have spamassasin installed on their mail servers. You can set the level it tags spam as {DHSPAM} so your email client can filter it off, and the level at which it Quarantines mail it keeps back at the server and sends you one on a daily basis.

I can assist with discount codes for dreamhost if anyone does want to try them out, it's the company that LEC is hosted with.
