After seeing that pic and Doug's poll I can tell you that I feel fresh and rejuvinated again! That's some of the best amateur heckling I've ever seen! :bowdown:

Be sure to let Phallus know that you're only "in training" for the job of professional heckler like his. Although, it would seem that this heckling is far more creative than Phallus' heckling. Maybe he should be looking for a new career????

I'm just waiting for a suitable opportunity to dump the "M100 eats RWD for breakfast" animation over there as they all believed the BMW adverts about RWD so maybe they'll believe mine. As a matter of interest, the background is very similar to one with a copyright Not FWD stamp on it. Could Phil sue me and if so, are there any good (but cheap) lawyers here (they'd have to be good though to counter his carefully constructed arguments)?

You know, since I've spent a bit of time over there now looking around at OTHER threads, etc. I've noticed something about that "Lotus" forum. There's a LOT of non-Lotus people there. I guess I took it for granted, after hanging out here for so long, that there'd only be Lotus (and possibly Elise/Exige) owners there.

Another nice thing about LEC I suppose that makes this such a special site. Its all about one subject only - the M100. Makes no sense for you to hang out here unless you own one, are planning on getting one or are a devout fan of one.

I agree. The other thing is that there is a huge number of people registered over there, and usually a lot on line. It's more like a bustling town/city as opposed to our friendly village over here. I think it shows in the general attitude as people here tend to be far more friendly (says he who ribs Gary for having an MG Elan and who posts picures of Doug with white hair :oops:

I hope it's taken in the spirit it's given) and it's reminiscent of life 30-40 years ago. At least we have a lot of common ground, bloody good taste for one!

It's been an interesting experience (frustrating at times and very funnny at others) and hopefully a few Elise owners have benefitted from our collective contributions. Take a collective pat-on-the-back and merry Christmas everyone.

I think the us market for the Elise was to get new converts from the high end (Porsche,M3 and the low end MR2, MX-5) so you got a lot of tire kickers over there. Sadly some have parted with their M100 for the Elise.

Just to try and clarify, It's a cross between a joke & wishful thinking.

I DID send him an e-mail, AND i got a reply

The e-mail i got from MK was just a general 'happy holidays' type one, as he declined to get involved in any kind of 'slanging match'.

As I'm sure you're aware, his position at Lotus could be fragile if he were to side against a bunch of people who have bought the current models, and (once again) saved the company from doom!

In fairness, it's been a few years since I have spoken to him in person, and to expect anything else was hopefull in the extreme!

However, he DID bother to reply to me (and it brought to his attention the misaprehension of some Elise fans).

Therefore, the specific content of the text was from my own keyboard, although the first and last lines were a straight 'cut & paste'.

I DO HOWEVER FEEL THAT (IF HE WERN'T CONSTRAINED) ANY 'OFF THE RECORD COMMENTS' WOULD BE IN THAT VEIN :lol:

If I caused any offence, tough! [sue me if you want - I'd rather you had my money than the ex-wife got it!!!]

I was merely trying to make a point and bring a load of pointless drivel to an end.

Are you sure? As the scale of electronics diminishes, energetic particles from space can cause memory corruption and is a particular problem to the aerospace industry. The problem is now getting so bad that effects are quite prevalent on the ground.

If you were copying and pasting some text, there is a very real risk that the contents could be corrupted to something completely different which may or may not be legible or indeed to link some text from elsewhere on your computer into the original message. Of course, if you were doing this at altitude (in an upstairs bedroom perhaps) the chances of it happening would be higher.

I am a professional bullshitter but I give you this for free :-D

Okay, we'll go for the ONLY legally-accepted loophole in the Computer Misuse Act 1999 (it will be plugged on 1st Feb 2007, BTW).

I use a laptop. As such, anything which is on my screen is for me only, and not for sharing.
I use a wireless modem/router, and once I hit the send button, it is possible, if i don't have the correct settings on the router~laptop connection, that the information goes into the same make/model of modem which my next-door neighbour is using.
What the neighbour does with it, before sending it on (or back) is beyond my control. As such, I could (possibly) be having this entire conversation with the bloke next door, not a bunch of guys on the interweb!

This loophole is only acceptable for POSSESSION of information/images, not PRODUCTION/DISTRIBUTION.
