i'm asking as i'm not 100% happy with the car at the mo

the boost guage only goes to 0.5

i#m not sure if my throttle is set up right

my timing seems a little high

Mick,

I've had a quick look at your runs. I'm no expert on the interpretation side (John_W and ESM are the boys) but it looks like you're getting boost up to 0.6 or so - it could be your gauge is reading low. Your power does look a bit low but you weren't up to maximum revs and if there was any sort of upward incline, that would tend to decrease the numbers.

One question that should be asked is, have you set your base timing? Everything that the ECU does assumes that this is spot on. I've come across quite a few people who have had problems but the timing hadn't been set. If you haven't done it recently, it would be well worth checking, otherwise, can you let us know a bit more about what you think is wrong.

Don't go by the gauge, they are useless, mine shows a max out at .75 when in fact the ECU is seeing over .9

I agree with Geoff, you need to post more symptoms or suspicions and then the ES data can be analysed to prove or disprove a theory.

Also, get the base timing reset, remember to put the car in service mode first.

ok,

i'm under the car today sorting out the front rubber lip (price is down to £13 inc VAT and postage now)

after that i'll have a read of what to do with the base timing, make sure i've got the tools to do it (and if i havent its charlie browns/halfrauds/ebay to get them)

set it right

do some more runs

and ask again

I agree completely, and moved to Washington D.C.!!!

You can take the lad out of Warwickshire, but you can't take Warwickshire out of the lad!

Oh, and Mick, they look like scans, how'd you do them, if you find my earlier efforts, I did third gear runs at wide open throttle from almost stalling to red line. That gives a nice range to check over.

good to find out from the man that my car is running well, i know i have a slight issue with the boost guage as a day ago i did two runs, unfortunately without the lappy logged in, and on the way out i was getting 0.7 indicated boost, but on the way back i was getting 0.5 indicated.

Also did another paperclip test as i had a code 34(maybe, not sure about number but it was a MAP one) however that has not come back again, so maybe things are A ok

After my PC went bang last week, I am now in possession of a new laptop.

So I thought I'd put it to good use and get an Elanscan run in, as I haven't had the facilities to do one for ages.

Anyway here goes. A few different conditions using the Closed Loop Elysium program. Full throttle acceleration in 3rd & 4th at one noteable point around 700s.

It seems a bit odd that it never exceeded 0.85bar boost and 165hp. No knocks either.

Anyone have any thoughts?
