Weight of the S1 (non-turbo) wheels

Does anyone happen to know the weight of the S1 wheels?

I have found these at Halfrauds and I'm thinking about purchasing them, in silver.

Lol - I'm looking to order the 53mm offset, best so far.

well I like the wheel and I am definitely impressed if they have a 53mm offset because that is about the biggest I have heard of for an aftermarket wheel. The stockers are +60mm as you likely know. Many people have defaulted to the common +40mm offset and no one has had definite ill effects from it.

you can argue all you want about the spacings and handling, etc, but they sound like a great match for the Elan.

ask them about mounting = you may need a hubcentric ring adapter from the wheel center bore to the Elan hub, you will likely need new wheel bolts or you could convert the Elan (like mine was) to using studs in the hub and then new nuts that go onto them over the wheel (like most cars in the world use).

I have spoken to the guy at Rim Stock and he said that the maximum is 45mm offset which they can do...will this be okay, I'm sure it will be but I just wanted to double check!?

He also mentioned a possible discount for all if anyone else wanted alloys?! If you do then please let me know and I will sort it out.

+45 is fine. As long as you know they are not the same as the OE and that they should not cause any problem you will be fine. They will protrude +15mm further out from the centerline, but the way the Elan looks, it should improve its appearance. The wheels I settled on were +47mm. I think you wouls have to do a custom job to get full OE spec wheels!
