Just a standard O-ring. Presumably someone like you has a massive selection in their workshop? I could go out and measure my spare but I'd get my hands all oily, it's freezing and I'm about to go and see the in-laws.... Sorry !

Unfortunately , I think they're 1.5mm (not 1.25mm) thread and there are only 8 (I need 9) of them Matt.

He's using them on the exhaust manifold & to bolt the turbo assembly down.

I bought them in Atlanta from a local place. Maybe I still have the receipt.

Who's your buddy? Who's your pal? That's right. Here ya go mate; on the left down towards the bottom. MMS is a great-big warehouse full of threaded stainless bits in Atlanta.

Bolt Depot has them in 8.8 steel, but I've had these on for almost 2 years now with no problems. They are such a large-size nut, it would take a massive force to deter them from their job of securing things.

1.5 is the normal pitch for size M10. They have those too but be sure that's what you want.

I've found I can source the four turbo to wastegate manifold bolts and nuts in stainless at the same price that Lotus want for the rusty stuff! It's also interesting to compare prices: UK @ 1.79GBP or US @ 1.19USD - you don't appreciate how lucky you are over there!

Anyway, I wonder what Davey Knox can get them for.

Geoff,
To get to mine, I had to remove the bracket which is obstructing access (careful when re-bolting it on, as it's easy to strip the thread in the alloy), then just persevere with a 10mm (I think) spanner on the single bolt which holds it on.

When I removed mine, the O-ring was flattened a bit, but the main surprise was the amount of crusty black crap inside the blanking plug. I presume it was toasted oil residue, but I hope not as I'd hate to think the oilways look like that. I scraped it out and cleaned things up.

I used some sealant (outboard of the O-ring) just to make sure I'd cured the leaks, as I wasn't impressed by the single-bolt fixing of the plug (I think it gives to much possibility for flexing). Refitting the bolt which holds the plastic plug was a sod. I dropped it three times and most of the time was spent finding the ruddy thing again. I suggest putting a turn of fuse wire round it just to act as a safety-chain until you get it properly located and started in its thread, then you can just pull the fuse wire to unwind it off.

I thought I could get to the little devil by disconnecting everything and moving the wiring harness down but no such luck. It's not too bad to remove the two bolts as John says and then it's quite easy.

Well, no the wonder it was weeping. It's obviously happened before and someone has plastered what appears to be studlock or similar all over it. In fact I think they've even gone to the bother of removing it as there was plenty past the O ring - if you've gone to that much trouble, why not do the job right!

I didn't think there was an O ring to start with, as it was encased in hardened gunk. Eventually cleaned it up and removed a very square and brittle O ring which has now been replaced along with the CAS one.

Remove the two (12mm A/F) [blue] - I removed the two hoses [red] to get at the little sucker (12mm A/F) [yellow].
