The wheels sit exactly the same depth as the OEM wheels - that's the whole reason for going with the +60 offset. I'll take more pics when I get a through raking all the leaves and the other fall garden work I've been neglecting

And which tires do you use? Depending on the exact type their are great differences in same heights... so there could be a chance, that the harsher feeling could be reduced for those instead of you, who like the smoother way.

I weighed both the stock and the new wheels and they were almost identical. Not surprising since there's a fair bit more aluminum in a 17" wheel. Now that I've driven the car more I have to say I really don't notice the difference all that much. I have adjustable ProTech shocks on the car and have the suspension turned up pretty tight. So it was "harsh" even with the stock wheels on. Also, with new rubber, the tires haven't broken in yet (only 800km on them) compared to the older, more pliant tires on the stock wheels. I suspect that in another 1,000 km the tires will start to give more. I've had the original Goodyear Eagles on the old wheels and new Eagle F1's on the new wheels.

I'm going to calculate out the difference in the speedo and odometer if I used 45 profile tires on these wheels instead of the 40's. Just curious as 45's would fill in the wheel arches nicely.

i just got off the phone with a wheel company. 17" wheels with a +53 offset look available. they weight in at 16.5 pounds each which will greatly aid in a smoother ride with the extra sidewall gone on the tire. so they are light, almost the right offset and i think they will come in at 750-800usd for a set of 4. he is looking into 16" wheels in the same offset but he doesnt know if they are available. so is anybody interested?

Here you go. One thing I may have forgotten to mention is that with the new wheels the steering seems "lighter" - in a good way. Easier to turn in and a bit more responsive.

I thought your post above asked for pictures of the wheels and how far they stick out of the wheel wells???? Have you looked through ALL the pictures in this post???? Not sure there are any other perspectives I can photograph.
