Ya, so my Elan didn't follow me home from the LEF Factory Frolic meet two weeks ago. Instead I dropped it off with Simon C./SPC Design to have the rollbar assembly installed. Flew back and picked it up yesterday. What can I say, this is a great product. It wasn't cheap but if it keeps my noggin off the ground just once, it will have been worth it. Naturally I plan never to test that; for now I'm enjoying the new look. In my opinion it really updated the lines of the car and made it look like a high-dollar exotic (and a lot less like an MX5!)
If you're interested here are some more pics from the drive home. Went through England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. (BTW the top speed of an M100, as-tested completely legally on an empty German motorway, is around 220 km/h with the hood up. I pretty much had to at some point didn't I?)
Thanks again to Simon/Kuching and also to Junks who I picked up a new heater core from along the way. That'll be the next project!
