The second one's made of plastic. And it's 1.6mm thick, apparently.
If you can guess one of them I'm happy to tell you what the other one is - feels like I underestimated the difficulty somewhat!

Ok, I appear to have killed the thread!
So to give it a nudge, #2 is an A-panel mounting shim (A100B2509K)

and if you raise the bonnet and stand in front of the car you should (probably) be able to see part of #1.

Close, but not quite!
Apparently the steel plate at the bottom is B100B1262F.
The part in the photo is a plastic shim and goes at the top of the A-panel, as below:

However, the parts guide and the service manual seem to show different things, and neither quite matches up with my car... Anyway, you were closer than anybody else!
