Replacement Radiator

Any advice on best type/source for a new radiator?

E bay list a few ranging from £150 (Copper/Brass) to £360 (Aluminium)

Has anyone bought one of the ones off e bay?

Any help/info/advice appreciated

I've fitted an aluminium rad purchased from Ebay due to a leaking end tank that was shipped to Aus for the UK. It was a direct fit and was well made. Sould give me many years of cool running. The seller's name was Bostonradiators.

The annoying thing is it was going to cost me more and take longer to get one fabricated locally so the ebay option was teh way to go.

I have an origonal for £50 + P&P

Its off my car I replaced mine with aluminium one from Boston Radiators..

My new aluminium one from Boston Rads arrived today. Looks very nice.

If you speak to them they will give you a LEC discount.

After speaking to them, however, I've decided to go for the Aluminium replacement from Boston Rads.

After another experience with the unkind Boston rads I have decided for the copper one from eBay. Very kind chap, custom built and just in time

Bad point of the story: the 3 row Ali one has had 3,6 kg dry and the copper one now 6,7 kg not the Lotus way, but it was urgent and I never throw cash again into a unkind mouth.

Without going in to gory details, which may be libelous & out of spirit with forum policy, what was the issue that you had with Boston Rads?

I only ask because I'm up for a replacement & because others here speak highly of them, they were my planned source!

Thats it. And now you can imagine what you get, when there will be a mistake in this kind of craftmanship -which can normally occur, nobody is perfect and every business has his own difficulties. But what do you think will you get, when there will happen sth? Right...
