Heat Shield

Im looking to paint the top heat shield as even after quite a good scrub with a steel wheel the surface is pitted.
Would this withstand the temperature?

there is a very high temp version but that is only available in matt

I used the Halford own brand VHT spray in the Aluminium colour - not sure how long it will last, but it's been 7 years so far

Cheers! Im thinking gloss back with red on the turbo writing, im going to go black on the rocker cover with a red and black plate.

If it looks naff i can always strip it...

I used matt black vht paint on mine and its been fine for 2 years

Hmm, not sure how well that would work. I like the idea of the gloss black cam cover (and maybe just polish the LOTUS lettering on it), but think that that a plain silver turbo heat-shield and matching spark plug cover would be better.
The detailing might look a bit fiddly - to retain a theme it could be best to go with black on silver, as per the plenum.

LIke it. One of the most subtle under bonnet scenes on an Elan I've seen. No naff blue hoses. But why not give Isuzu some credit?

I really like that - very nice theme.
My only query, and I'm really nit-picking here, is why leave the "-" before the LOTUS if you're going to the trouble of getting rid of the ISUZU and the lugs?

Go for it Nick, it's a very easy mod with no special tools or skills needed and yes I used laquer on cam cover but not heat shield as I did not think it would handle the heat

DABgp, Isuzu do deserve credit for a cracking little engine, I just don't think the word Isuzu is as sexy as Lotus
