So how did it go? To start with removing the old seals took me about two and a half hours, this was exactly what I expected as Jamie's very detailed instructions prepared me for a bit of a task, he also included a useful drawing of the necessary tool for removing the old sealant from inside the channel . Whilst not difficult it was time consuming due to the old sealant which was applied all along the channel on the original seal. Channel cleared and cleaned I then took Jamie's advice and replaced the screws top and bottom of the screen with stainless replacements.
The next part installing the new seal was completed in just a few minuets I was expecting a struggle but after offering up the seal and moving the push stud to the inside hole thoughtfully provided
Next I pressed home the seal as per instructions and dared to remove it again just to prove to myself that it was a good snug and tightly fitting replacement, and hey-presto impressive...! I now understood why Jamie's instruction made new sealant optional. I did however use a small amount at the top as recommended to keep the top of the seal in place and watertight.
Well that's it my new A Pillar seals fitted in seconds, I live on the south coast and the bleak weather windy squalls and frequent down-poring cant get past my new seals.
If you are considering buying these EPDM seals from Jamie my advice would be don't hesitate! these are A Pillar seal upgrades all the way.
Thank you Jamie and Thank you Lotus Elan Central.

Jamie!
