Large Grommet

Evening, All.

I'm after the large grommet that surrounds the air intake pipe as it passes through the nearside inner wing. I'd be very grateful for a part number or a heads up as to where to source this part. Mine's in rather a sorry state!

In case there is any confusion, Fredjohns link is to the correct pukka Lotus part and my link is to the cheaper SJ option

Both will do the same thing ie perish and look knackered after a few years

My NMY uses a cv boot and does the same thing and is a good way of saving even more beer tokens

I got this from ebay,havn't got round to fitting it yet though,but it was suggested on the forum a while back that it fits.

I've had both the SJ part and the eBay "Austin Healey" part (I know, made of money). In my view, the AH part is much stronger and a better fit, although it does need a bit of encouragement/lubrication to get it into place

Ive also used the AH part,it fits fine.

I found the AH ones about 10 years ago and have used them since on both my SE's. They seem to be recently made to pattern and have lasted much better than Lotus ones.

Paid a lot of money for "a proper Lotus one' from Stratton Motors when it was still on the factory parts list and found it didn't last 6 months before it had perished and fallen to bits. Rubber had grey and powdery surface straight out the bag so I suspect it was made when the M100 was still in production so I'd say avoid Lotus ones, they will be OLD !. SJ's alternative may be newer but it's twice the price of the AH..

Yes, I just stuck mine in some hot water for a few moments, dried it off and it was much more flexible.

I did consider the blowtorch I use for cooking, but only in passing
