When I lived in Burton it always stank of Bass beer, Bovril and Marmite so the stench of boiling vats of mustard should be a welcome change

Yes. English Mustard is water based with the spice Turmeric added that gives it the bright yellow-orange colour. Turmeric is in curry powder and believed to be a cancer inhibitor as well.
English Mustard releases the strong flavour quicker and is best with ham, sausages, pork pies and scotch eggs.

French mustards are usually made with various white wines or vinegars and have more subtle complex flavours and better with other foods, particularly French.

In France I buy a mayonnaise that I really like because it contains a lot of Dijon mustard but have to make my own mix in UK as I can't find anything like it. Has to be Dijon mustard, English mustard doesn't work for me in that ...

You would think it would be worth Norwich council offering them a sweetener rather than miss out on the business rates & taxes then having to pay benefits for the staff left behind without work?
