have added several more articles and other write-ups that seem to be popular as well as replacing the very big "Closed Loop Manual" with a smaller, revised version provided by Phil W. and a less large Black on White Service Bulletin file also improved by Phil W.

If anyone has other publications that would be useful to other M100 owners and are willing to share, please send them to me and I will add them to the list.

If anyone is upset that I added something they posted, just tell me and I will remove it. Everything I have posted is easily found via Google search, I am just putting everything I find in a common location. There are no charges for or sales of this information - unlike the people selling CDs on eBay.

Just a BUMP

I have added some more guides that were mentioned in other postings. Things like the gearbox overhaul guides for the GM/Isuzu/M100 gearbox and the Cam Belt replacement guide from the Isuzu group.

If anyone has a favorite DIY guide they found to be useful and it isn't copyright marked, let me know so I can add it to the collection.

I just added the Federal Supplement WB which deals with the SIR system and the SIR Steering Column. (U-Joint alignment is different from all other models)

Service section and full diagnostics are now available.

I just added several new manuals and guides to the collection:
Gordon's Raft Bushing Replacement Guide
Phil J's (lotusflasherman's) Version of the Owner's Manual with added Service Pages
The GM Gearbox Service Manuals

If there are any other manuals or guides anyone thinks should be included, let me know where to get the files and i will update the list when I get a chance.
If you don't know of a source, please still add the request and hopefully someone will point out a location where it can be downloaded from.

Look again. It is under "Fed (SIR) Steering addendum Section ". I got it a while ago but never got a chance to add it.

John.
I want to use some pages of the manuals as reference material in my youtube videos
im thinking of recording a video on removing the seats, explain the bolt nut and spacer sizes, locations, what to use to maintain them or replace etc in detail, mostly to experiment with a different idea on how to present the content on youtube, using screenshots of the relevant pages with annotations would make things super clear to a viewer, but i dont want to upset lotus or whoever is the current copyright owner of the manuals.

I have always assumed the copyright owners either dont care about the manuals availability, or have authorised the disclosure, but since I'm using them as reference material in youtube content, dont know if i could get into trouble.

this is probably a topic worth discussing via PM, but id like to know if i would be in troube if i added those images as part of my videos?

I called my contact at Lotus Parts UK and explained what you were proposing.

The answer is basically: "If you DON'T contradict, editorialize or demonize the sections you are quoting or referring to, then they don't expect to have any problems."

You can get digital pages of the parts guide by capturing the pages at http://www.deroure.com. You will have to use their search to get to the correct pages.

You should take your own pictures wherever possible so you can show the true environment you will be working in.

Decent lighting, a tripod and a good shutter release cable will help. Clean up the pictures including brightening them so they are clear to view.

You should also point your readers to Toby's Lotus Restoration on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT7soO ... TmjcQsIQTA

I might suggest you consider asking other members of LEC (Dave Pink, Dave Speck, there's only on f in Geof Smith) or anyone else that might be knowledgeable to review your work so you don't suggest anything a novice repair person could get into trouble with.

DON'T suggest short-cuts, home-made tools or other dangerous solutions you might try yourself but might get someone hurt.

Recommend the proper tools and show how to use them.

Assume the person watching your topic has never worked on a car before. Walk them through the proper/safe ways to reach the project area and do the job.

Clearly describe the project and show the task in the proper stages. Don't jump around. You may understand what you are trying to do but someone who has never done the task before should have a good knowledge of the process, tools and skill set needed to make the repair.

Things like cracked Petrol Tank repair is best left to professionals.

I was badly burned a long time ago and skin grafts are expensive and very painful. People die from burns more often than you think.

Sorry for being long-winded. Education is always helpful, but safety and proper process is essential to prevent accidents.

Thanks for the clarification, and all the tips regarding the production of the content.

I am still trying to figure out what is "my style" of youtube delivery, my channel is not exclusively elan content, however, being the elan my long term ongoing project and given all the knowledge i have aqquired over the past 6 years around this car, there is a natural tendency to steer the channel content into elan related topics.

I agree with your points, its important to release videos with good advice and with a focus on safety, I'm thinking in possibly adding a standard disclaimer to the beguining to my videos, the truth is, regardless of what im showing, this is just the way I have tackled the task, in most scenarios it will be the same way as most would do, but there is always the possibility that my car is different from standard without my knowledge, or I am unable to approach the task the same way as others due to constraints, for instance, I recently changed the wheel bearing, used a screw type bearing tool, where the ideal tool would be the hidraulic press, but I dont have one, and due to the covid pandemic, the local garages are closed and unwilling to do the task.

I just tried it (clicked on the manuals link top of this page) and had no problem, where are you trying to download them from?

Keep getting the above. Tried two different browsers. Been happening for a while now. Not really looking in particular.
