A large recessed slothead screw in the top of the plenum. It is usually covered by a rubber plug...unless like me you've lost it

And any vacuum leaks that you have.
Also the throttle stop if someone has been fiddling with it.
I think there are some instructions with pictures and an explanation under "tickover" in the wiki.

Before checking tickover in service mode, pull a vacuum pipe whilst idling. The revs should rise (approx. 50 - 100 rpm). If they stay the same you already have a leak in the vacuum line.
Tickover speed is usually 950 rpm
