Whenever I had to stop the engine kept cutting out, wouldn't idle and engine mgmt light coming on but restarted each time.
Also speedo not working. The needle just bobbing around between 0 - 10 mph.
Any ideas anyone?

So, what error code(s) did you get ?

Thanks for reply. Speedo not registering anything now.
Took binnacle off dash and checked cable is tight in back of speedo.
Arm down the back of engine to check cable is not loose at gearbox and retaining plate seems to be present and tight.
Then disconnected cable at speedo and drove car while son looked down cable end to see if its spinning but its not so can only assume cable is broken. Still having problems with cutting out at idle and mgmt light coming on.
Did paper clip test and flashing fault code 12 which is no fault?

Yes, it sounds like the cable has broken in that case. Not sure if the availability or part cross references?

Just checked the wiki, SJ Sports cars have the cable, gear and spare O ring.
£85 the lot. It seems that when the cable is broken or faulty the speed sensor cant detect movement so that affects the ECU causing stalling.
