so.. after a whole faff about getting the car ready for cascle combe and failing at that, and ultimately having to re-tune up the engine. i think i must have a done a good job. because the title of the thread says it all... on the test run. the oil pipe burst.
i heard a strange noise when pullig out of a roundabout, and drove a little further, about 3-500m later the oil light comes on. i was particularly close to my known MOT garage, so i took it up to the door (another ~500m) running the engine as slowly as possible.
as far as while the engine ran. i didnt not notice any change in the sound so im hoping there is no damage.
ive got the towing of the car back home arranged. and Pinky has assured me the job of replacing the pipes is straight forward, now my concern is... what kind of damage may there be to the engine ? and how do i go on about confirming if im lucky or not??
all advice and previous experieces are welcome. even if its just links to other posts where this has been discussed.
