Hello, Got the centre console up for the fitting of new hand brake cowl, can I disconnect the two supply connectors on the window switches from underneath the console? It will much easier to remove the old leather hand brake cowl if the connectors will disconnect! Any advice gratefully received. Clive.

Clive, there is (just!) enough cable length to allow you to prise the switches out of the centre console and then separate the wiring connector (4 wires in a plastic plug) - it is a straight pull-apart, as there are no locking clips on the joint.

I am assuming that your talking about an S2, because if you can lift the console without previously removing the switches to gain access to 2 setscrews holding down the console on an SE/NA then something is broken!!!!

Dave, thankyou for a rapid response! That is what I needed to know. It is the S2, so I can release the central connector for the door mirror direction + heater control and then release the two window power lines. Cheers, Clive.

And it’s pretty much impossible to remove the handbrake gaiter without removing the centre console first. Ask me how I know
