Just incase someone reads this and thinks the NA injectors are ok...I hate to point it out João but you've linked to the Robietherobot site which gives a detailed explanation and the specs.

Neil.G wrote:still none the wiser.

Flow rate is regulated by fuel pressure and the size of the hole in the injector. The difference between 310 and 322 is -3.7% so the US injectors need to be open 3.7% longer for the same fuel delivery.

Ohms as described above.

Will it work? Lots of things will work but will it work as intended or will it do harm? That depends if the ECU can correct the error throughout the range.

For E10 you can also add an AFR error of 4% lean

Can it correct a 7.7% error ? It isn't simple and we don't know. So it's a case of paying your money and taking your pick.

Personally (and I may be alone), I can't control the fuel supply but I can ensure the injectors work as designed.

Did these injectors work out ok, Tim? I bought four PL2-320 peak & hold injectors from RC, after following this thread, but they're about 3/16ths shorter than my old ones and have a different base. And they're non-returnable...

They certainly look different on the Wiki.

Sorry Geoff, and others for not updating, yup those injectors work fine, have done 750 kms in 3 days and a track day and they are great, only hassle is they still didn't fix my hot starting issues but that's a whole different story...

Thanks Tim.

They are no longer available from the US but I have just ordered a set from that well known manufacturer Defus (Doofus) on AliExpress for a grand total of £83.94. I'll try and remember to report back.

I also bought a handful of the weird sized O-rings - it turns out they are a British Standard size and less than a fiver for 10 Vitrons from eBay.

has anyone tried a set of injectors from Rockauto? There seems to be a selection available for the Isuzu Impulse?

Be aware, last time I looked at/for Impulse injectors at R.A. they were listed incorrectly, stating that they were suitable for the turbo, but they are only good for the NA engine (different impedance).

Have a look for the thread on here from Brit car nut - he tested whatever he could get hold of, and not many were suitable.

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Geoff how did you get on with the injectors you bought from Aliexpress?
Also does the fuel system need much bleeding after changing the injectors?

Well, belatedly:
I managed to get them fitted 2 days before we went back to Spain. I disconnected the battery and left it overnight to reset the ECU but the next morning it still ran like a bag of nails so I left it overnight with the battery AND the battery charger disconnected and it seemed to run reasonably well but there was no time to give it a run unfortunately. We're back from Spain now so the plan is to tax it again in July and see how it goes on the road.

Several coil packs, plug leads, plugs, lambda sensors, curses about FTDI + W11 later… she passed the MoT with no problems and blasting it on the way home showed nothing untoward.
