Minor upgrades complete !

Postby lwalling » Sun 16.10.2005, 08:08

I've completed the installation of ..

"Everest" ECM Upgrade
NGK Iridium Plugs (A must... in my opinion)
Top End Performance intake pipes & filter
TurboXS Blow-off Valve (Loud! A RIOT!)
Free-flowing pre-cat

And my car is basically a totally new car, it doesn't perform remotely similar to it's stock form when I received it less than a month ago - it's damn fast for what it is. I can keep within two carlengths of my coworkers 500hp Ford Lightning in the stop-light grand prix :).

The only thing I have left to do is install the Dynoflow Bullet muffler and 2.5" Dynoflow cat.

I did discover a large DENT in my intercooler at the top screwing up the top three rows ability to flow and what looks like a small hole in the bottom right corner of it (really the ONLY negative on an otherwise perfectly clean/unscathed undercarriage), I am in need of advise on what to do. I'd like to buy a larger intercooler to put in place of this one - if thats possible to fit it. Any advice? Anything already available in the US or UK that's a drop in replacement that performs better ?

Thanks in advance for any feedback. I am having a good time with my little rice burner british roadster !

'Turbocharger' is working on a more efficient intercooler as you can read in the following link: -

Also 'Lotusgirlmarie' had a larger unit made that was a straight swap for the stock item?

Good to hear its all working well Luke.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to sit on your arse with a blank look on your face.

It's all working GREAT! Just a couple used-car related problems to solve (like the intercooler) and a slightly leaky radiator, and the car will literally be damn near perfect all the way around.

I don't know why Lotus didn't provide more boost to begin with and a decent exhaust, those two items alone would have definately made the sales of this little car far better.

Asking for pictures from me ? Or the prior post - anything specific you'd like to see ?

Thanks.

And it's done !

The 2.5" exhaust system is on, it's loud to with the Walker/Dynomax Bullet muffler and basically straight through 2.5" CAT from the same.

The damn car has a ton more power on the low end - it will actually break traction from a dead stop (and I'm not talking dumping the clutch here) when the turbo spools up which is a RIOT.

I highly recommend the changes I've made to any Elan owner - this is what Lotus should have done in the first place.

Now I just have to fix my headlight problem (thats on another thread...).

Thanks.
