Ultimate Elan Wheels

With advances in tire and wheel technology over the last 15 years, if you had to produce a wheel for the M100 today, what would be the ultimate Elan M100 wheel? Forged aluminum construction, 7 by 17, +60 mm offset, 4 by 100mm bolt circle?

As a UK user from a handling perspective, I wouldn't want to lose any of the high profile of the tyre owing to how bumpy our roads are, particularly the back roads that the Elan loves so much. Any increase in unsprung mass is also going to hurt the car's roadholding on an even surface. So..... Maybe I'd stick with the original, but perhaps with the cosmetics of the design brought up to date?

Don`t forget the 56.6mm hub hole.

That`s another reason i`ve gone off aftermarket wheels as the hub hole is larger so they fit more models then they supply a hub ring to suit, but for a sports car i don`t think this is the way to go IMO and thats the reason i`ve got S2 wheel.

There Mille Miglia Evo 5, 17"x7" offset 37mm and they do look superb

Monty... Don't want to worry you, but could the reason your Elan was handling a bit erratically be due to the two missing wheel bolts?
